Hey, everybody! 😀 Melanie here. And I’m doing NaNoWriMo! Or, should I say, my own version. Because for me and Shawna, 50,000 words is not so much “National Novel Writing Month” as “A Month.”
So, instead of a goal of 50,000 words, I’ve chosen to use NaNoWriMo as an opportunity to address my biggest writing productivity weakness: CONSISTENCY! I can bang out a 10,000 word day no problem. I’ve even done more – I think ~16,500 was my record. But then I get distracted by and involved in other responsibilities and I’ll go a week or more without writing at all.
Additionally, I’ve been pushing to get to 100,000 words per month for almost a year, and every month I just don’t *quite* get there.
So, here are my two goals:
1) Write at least 1,000 words every single day and post my word count.
2) Reach 100,000 words by the end of the month.
This is crazy, too, because November is set to be our busiest month in terms of travel, events, and commitments in…I don’t even know how long.
But, hey…if I manage to succeed at this, I will know that if I can do it when it’s this difficult, I can do it on a normal month no problem!
